Nearly 100 percent of The ILC’s Citizenship Class students earn their citizenship. This achievement transforms their lives in amazing ways. Today, I want to share with you just a few of the ways your support has changed the life of our student Elisangela, a new American citizen.

• She can participate in the civic process. “I’d like to vote … I believe in this country. I love it, it’s everything,” says Elisangela.
• She has more opportunities. “Now I know I can [study], I can work, like the other persons.”
• Her whole family benefits. “I see my husband very happy. I see in his eyes this happiness, and my son is very happy.”
• She is proud and excited about her future. “I feel better, more positive about the life … I feel like the other persons. No more afraid, no more.”

Elisangela credits her success to the classes that your support enables. “The Immigrant Learning Center opened the door for me,” she says. “My friends ask me about the school. I really, really recommend The Immigrant Learning Center.”
