Friend, Luiz has a kind message for you

Luiz and GildaThanks to your support, Luiz and his wife Gilda were able to study English and prepare to become U.S. citizens at The Immigrant Learning Center. Luiz became a new citizen in February, and before he left The ILC, he shared some kind words for the teachers and volunteers who helped him, all of whom he calls “teacher.” Since their work would not be possible without your support, his words are for you as well.

Dear teachers. I want to say something for you. Teacher Kathleen. Thank you for your patience … you welcomed me and Gilda into your class. Thank you so much. Teacher Karen, you helped me a lot. You were always careful and looked for our best. Thank you for lessons. I learned a lot from you. Teacher Andy, I don’t know what to say about you. With you, I spent most of my time in this class, citizenship class. Thank you very much for your attention.

Teacher, teacher, teacher, I learned a lot in your class. You are fantastic. Your disposition, your willingness to help and prepare us for the [citizenship] interview [is] indescribable. You schedule a meeting at any time if needed to help us. Holidays, weekends, etcetera. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet you. I will miss everyone, but the life continues.

You may never meet Luiz, but the impact that you’ve had on his and Gilda’s lives is extraordinary. Thank you for all that you do to support The Immigrant Learning Center.
