April 12-15, 2026

What do adult learners need to thrive in daily life, and how can ESOL instruction help them get there?

In this 70-minute interactive session with The ILC ESOL Teacher Mayu Bryan, participants will explore how to integrate essential life skills into English instruction using strategies developed by the Teaching Skills That Matter (TSTM) project. Participants will leave with practical strategies to help learners build language skills while gaining the confidence to navigate work, community and everyday life in the United States.

This session is a part of COABE 2026, the world’s largest adult education conference in Indianapolis, IN. For more information on the conference and other sessions, visit the COABE website.
